Space Saver Vertical Gardening

Disclosure: This blog may contain affiliate links

Home or kitchen gardening is very popular since thousands of years. Some people like to do kitchen gardening because of their hobby and some (including me) do simply to fulfill their day to day organic veggies or herbs need as buying organic veggies from market could be quite expensive.

As per many doctors and psychiatrists gardening could help us to relax and release some happy hormones because you are close to nature, people who do gardening face less depression and mental health issues and at the same time gardening.

From last few months I am very much fascinated towards organic veggies and fruits and I have my reasons to advocate it, I am sure everyone has their own reasons to lean towards organic stuff 😊

While doing my research on organic kitchen gardening within the limited space, I learned about vertical gardening and I came across something very interesting called The Garden Tower. Garden Tower makes kitchen gardening really simple!

Let me throw some light on Garden Tower, its invented by the young entrepreneur Colin Cudmore and his team Tom Tlusty, Joel Grant, Benedict Jones and David Huber. Their idea is to promote organic gardening everyone even to the people who have less space.

This is how Garden Tower look-

You could grow up to 50 plants like mint, spinach, peppers, carrots, beets, leeks, onions, garlic, eggplant, turnips, tomatoes and many more, so like this you would have easy access to organic veggies right into your patio or backyard. It would also be great for schools, nonprofit organizations etc.…  to explore and do experiments without much hassle and mess. It could be great project this summer for kids.

Here are the suggestions for indoor plants which require low maintenance –

Peace Lily
PEACE LILY- Spathiphyllum which is also known as Peace Lily or Spath are one of the low maintenance indoor plant. They need water only once a week and they grow well in bright light, they are considered to be best for bathrooms, office or the places which are not exposed to natural sunlight.

PADDLE PLANT- Paddle plants look gorgeous with their round, thick and paddle shape leaves which mostly turned red in winters. They don’t require lot of water otherwise they may end up in rotten plant so be careful, its recommended to use dry potted soil for paddle plant. Guess what? You can propagate these plants and create multiple cute plants.

Lucky Bamboo

LUCKY BAMBOO- Lucky bamboo is also called Dracaena sanderiana and is one of the most popular indoor plants. I remember when I was a kid my neighbor and my family members use to believe that bamboo plant brings wealth and luck, I am not sure if its true or not but I know that this looks beautiful in homes as a décor piece.

LAVENDER- Lavender is another petite indoor plant which give vibrant color and warmth to your room. This plant does not require lots of care but its best when it is exposed to sunshine. Lavender gives natural freshness and fragrance to your place.

Yes, green leafy plants can brighten up your living room, family room kitchen or even bathrooms! Along with enhancing beauty of your home plants plays vital role to purify the surrounding air and environment.

2- Indoor Plants Can Add Warmth to the Ambiance – Plants have natural elements which soothe your eyes thus it creates warmth to the ambience of the house.

3- 24/7 air purifier - Some plants like orchids and ferns can work as 24/7 air purifier, Orchids which is my favorite plant can actually give off oxygen during night. They are the best bedroom buddy!

4- Kitchen Herbs- Well there are some plants or you may say “herbs” which can be used in cooking or garnishing like mint, cilantro, rosemary, sage, basil etc… these herbs not only give beautiful look to your kitchen or home but they also spread natural aroma to your home so no more air freshener J

5- Reduce Stress and Help Sleeping Well- Some researchers found that if you have potting plants at your work desk, its helps in reducing stress and it will lead you to be more productive. Bedsheets Matters

There was a time when we used to use  bedsheets because of basic needs of our bedrooms, but now bedsheets are something which shows your personality, mood, and fashion sense, yes you heard me J “fashion”, like clothes, accessories, shoes etc… makes you look fashionable, likewise bedsheets make your bedroom fashionable.

Everyone like to sleep in comfortable and cozy bed in which beautiful bedsheets plays an important role, me myself always make my bed daily in the morning and love to change my bedsheets every three to four days.
Now a days there is a trend of designer 3D Printed bedsheets which gives a stylish look to your bedroom, but there are 4 things which I consider before buying any bedsheets –

1-  Size of Bedsheet- We should always know what the exact size of our beds is and what the thickness of our mattress is. It’s always better to buy couple of inches bigger bedsheets, just in case bedsheet shrinks.

2-  Fabric of Bedsheets – These days there is vast variety of fabrics in bedsheets like egyptian cotton, microfiber, polyester, silk and blend fabric is also going popular these days because it reduce the cost of bedsheet but I always prefer cotton or Egyptian cotton febric in bedsheets because its breathable, comfortable and good for people with allergies.

3- Pattern OR Printed – Now we need to choose from the large collection of bedsheets whether we want printed one or pattern one, some people even like plain bedsheets but not me!! You just need to choose according to your taste and likings or you could explore online which bedsheets are in trend, these days 3D printed bedsheets are my most favorite ones.

4- Thread OR Weave Type matters – Many people are confused and don’t know what is thread count in bedsheets and why it is important to know how much is the thread count?  So the thread count is the quantity of threads woven in 1 sq. (square) inch, which means higher the thread count, superior the quality of fabric.
Now there are different kind of weaves also like –
·        Standard Weave – In standard weave the minimum thread count is 150 and it feels soft and smooth.
·        Satin Weave- Satin weave is very silky and soft but durability is questionable. It looks great but I don’t feel comfortable with satin weave.
·        Twill Weave- Twill weaves is heavy weave and also there is less chance of wrinkles.

·        Jacquard and damask are one of the most premium and expensive woven bedsheets.

I have some great collection of 3D printed Bedsheets which are my most favorite one, also I would love to become your personal shopper to help you in shopping and gifting idea and of course will share deals and discounts.

6 Tips to Follow Prior to House Renovation

Furniture is what fills our home and office. Without it and proper decoration, no infrastructure is complete. Being able to welcome people in a house that inspires awe is what every homeowner desires. A few decades ago, interior decoration was a not such a big deal as it is today. Truth be told, these days homeowners are a bit show off which is why the business of interior decoration and renovation is in huge demand these days. People who are looking for a new house are looking for something unique while old homeowners are looking to make their house more visually appealing.

But such processes shouldn't be performed in haste. It takes time to find your perfect home while it is even more difficult to remodel an existing house.

Suppose you are a homeowner, and you are looking for a change in terms of home décor; what will you do?

Most people are clueless as to from where they should start while remodeling their house; it's not as if it can be finished within hours. It's a long process that takes patience and tact both from homeowners and professionals.

As a homeowner, here's what you should do:-

• Pack your stuff barring the essentials: When your house is being renovated, it will be in a state of disarray. Things will be moved here and there. So, you should pack all your staff properly leaving the bare essentials that you need on a daily basis.

• Use the store: The chances are that your store room will not be used much during such work. So store everything there until the work is finished.

• Security: Most people take this factor for granted, but it is of extreme importance. During any house remodeling work, a lot of unknown people will come into your house to oversee the work which is why the security should be tight to prevent any kind of theft.

• Privacy: Nobody likes an intrusion in their private life which is why you should ensure that any work is done according to your convenience. Professional workers should follow a predetermined routine and stick to it.

• Keep your kids out: Any construction work requires heavy machinery and other dangerous equipments which is why you should keep your kids and pets out of its proximity.

• Getaway: If you don't like the fact that there will be dust and continuous nagging sound in your house during a renovation, you should think about getting away for a while. Just take a few days off and go to a hotel or someplace else.

You will be amazed at how beautiful your house can look after a remodeling. It will save your thousands of dollars which you would have used in purchasing a new property.
